Biography/Non-Fiction- Perishing Poles By Anita Ganeri

Image result for pershing poles anita ganeriPerishing Poles I found interesting because I don’t usually read non-fiction books. Every chapter is a new little story or quiz. I found it fascinating reading the part when there were two teams racing to reach the south pole first. The two teams had to overcome frostbite, stormy winds and temperatures up to -40°c. I enjoyed this book because it isn’t something I would just pick off the shelf of the library. I would recommend this book to children 7-10 years because it was an easy read for me.

Accidentally watched the movie first- Matilda By Roald Dahl
Image result for matilda bookMatilda is a sweet little girl who is very smart. She taught herself to read at the age of 3. At the age of 4, Matilda had read all the children's stories in the library. So she went on to reading adults books. She loves her school teacher so she sometimes went home to her house.  Matilda soon discovers an awesome power where she can move things with her eyes. Matildas principal is very mean to she decides to prank her... I really enjoyed reading Matilda and it is a really popular book so I'm sure lots of people would have liked it. I liked the movie more than the book because it described more things and was more interesting.

Try A Classic- Mr Twiddle By Enid Blyton
Image result for mr twiddle stories enid blytonMr Twiddle is one of my favourite books because of the funny humour that goes on in it. Mr Twiddle is always forgetting things and Mrs Twiddle gets annoyed with him. He is always doing something silly. Whether it's his hat he can't find but it is actually on his head. To, throwing his new white handkerchief in the fire instead of the old newspapers. I would rate Mr Twiddle a 5/5 because I am always in fits of laughter when I read his silly stories.

Read A Local- Too many Secrets By Adele Broadbent

Image result for adele broadbentI absolutely loved the book ‘Too Many Secrets’ because it is not a book that I would usually choose out of the shelf. I have never read any of Adele’s books before and I am sure to read more of her books. ‘Too Many Secrets’ is about a girl called Becs and she lives with her Mum, her step dad Mark and her younger step sister Nick. They move to the bush which Becs is not happy about because she says it will be boring and she won’t get to see her friend from the city. But she sure does find the bush more interesting than she thought it would be.Until she met a boy called Isaiah and that is when their adventures started. She changed her mind about staying in the bush and doesn't want to go back to the city after all. I would rate this book and ⅘ because it is an awesome adventure book and it hooked me in right from the start which made me not want to stop reading!

Relive The Magic- The Long Haul By Jeff Kinney

Image result for the long haulGreg and his family go on a holiday when Rodrick and he are planning other things for summer break. Mum thinks that it will be a good way to spend some time together as a ‘family’. Along the way there are a lot of things that didn’t go as planned. For example- They go to a market and Manny wins a pig, he doesn’t want to leave it there so they have to take it in the car, which was a hassle. I enjoyed this book because it is really funny cause they have to figure out where to stay and things go wrong and they meet weird people along the way. I rate this book a ⅘ because it was a easy read so next time I will choose a more challenging one.

Loved By Others- Double Act By Jacqueline Wilson

Image result for double act jacqueline wilsonRuby and Garnet are identical twins. Their Mum died when they were 7 years old and they are now 10. They do everything together. Until they do an exam for a scholarship for Marnock Heights, the posh boarding school for girls. Garnet gets the scholarship and leaves Ruby with her Dad and his new girlfriend Rose. I really enjoyed Double Act, that Brooke in my class recommended to me. This is the first book that I have read from the author Jacqueline Wilson and I will continue to read more of her books in the future. I recommend this book for people 8-11 because it hooked me in right from the start and I am sure lots of other people will enjoy it as much as I did.
